Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts held it’s very first summer program from July 10th, 2017 – August 11th, 2017. This summer program was developed to help prevent summer learning loss in grades 6th – 12th. For five weeks, students participated in programs such as JA Be Entrepreneurial, JA It’s My Future, JA Personal Finance, JA Company Program, JA Titan, Stock Market, STEM activities and more!
The students had great ideas for their companies and products they wanted to create. From portable speakers, teabag bookmarks, gel candles, to home decor, they thought of it all! “Picto Frames”, created by two students, were wooden picture frames that stood independently on their own and were perfect for your home or office. These students made a huge hit with their “Picto Frames Jingle” that can be found here.
Students learned how to run a business, write a resume, save for their future, and plan their personal goals. Thanks to all of our guest speakers, volunteers, and Elms College for supporting our students. Registration is now open for the 2018 summer program!
