CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A great show of support unfolded in Chicopee, where the contributions of individuals and businesses in the local community took center stage.
The Greater Chicopee Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit organization focused on economic development in the city, held its 39th annual Shining Stars Awards Gala Friday evening. The event, themed “The Greatest Show in Chicopee,” took place at the Castle of Knights.
Marie LaFlamme, Events Chair for the organization, explained to 22News why they hold this gala every year: “We should always honor our local volunteers and community leaders. We get together and shine for a moment.”
Four awards were presented, including Nonprofit of the Year to Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts and Business of the Year to Mercedes-Benz of Springfield.
